Raising awareness among authorities
Every year, ISS Switzerland takes part in advocacy activities for children’s rights. It informs and raises awareness among the authorities concerned, experts and policymakers, in particular about the protection needs of unaccompanied minors and child protection in parental separation.
Harmonising practice
ISS Switzerland campaigns for harmonised standards of care for unaccompanied minors throughout Switzerland and supports professionals in implementing practices centred on the best interests of the child, in line with the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
Collective action
ISS Switzerland takes part in collective advocacy groups, such as the group for young people whose asylum applications have been rejected, which brings together members of the Coordination asile Genève and the young people concerned, and whose work fed into the campaign “Education for all – now!”.
