About us

How a request for assistance is handled

From first contact to the follow-up of your case, every request follows a clear, confidential and individual path.

1

First contact

Through our telephone helpline, every working day in Geneva and Zurich, or via the request for assistance form.

2

Reviewing the request

Our interdisciplinary team checks whether an intervention is relevant and feasible, in Switzerland and abroad.

3

Activating the network

Steps taken with our partners in Switzerland (child and adult protection authorities, other authorities) and abroad, through the ISS network present in 120 countries.

4

Support and follow-up

Interviews, consultations in Geneva or Zurich, referral to mediation or legal support, until the case is resolved.

The cost of ISS Switzerland’s services is set according to a scale of fees for private individuals and mandating services in the different cantons. Depending on the situation, the request may be referred to one of our services: social and legal support, international family mediation, transnational family consultations or return assistance.
