Drawing on its experience in supporting reintegration in the country of origin, ISS Switzerland has developed a partnership with the Geneva Cantonal Detention Office and the Return Assistance Service of the Geneva Red Cross to support people in detention in the Canton of Geneva who must leave Switzerland at the end of their sentence and wish to develop a reintegration project in their country of origin.
The “RESTART” programme has been running since October 2018 and encourages detainees to envisage and build prospects for reintegration, supporting them in developing a professional or training project and carrying it out in the country of return. They can thus look forward to returning with dignity and lasting prospects.
